Assembly is very easy. If it’s sturdy and fits snugly, it’s fine, but don’t overtighten the screws. I would give them 5 stars because I have 4 kittens that I love and keep busy with. Because I think it’s worth every penny in that it instantly becomes a kitty’s play area within an hour. If you have a large cat, this cat tree is not for you. It’s worth it for the kitten. My cats Love it
