When moving the mat, do not move it suddenly. Move it a little bit each time you use it. To potty train your dog to go outside, move the mat closer and closer to the door. When it comes to soaking, etc., it seems to be highly durable and can withstand multiple uses. If it’s heavily soiled, it will absorb odors until you can move it. They work perfectly (IMO). Great product
